Initial Consultation
Service Description
A comprehensive nutrition and lifestyle assessment will be completed. This includes: - Medical history and family history - Detailed diet history (food preferences, frequency, patterns, allergies, intolerances, sensitivities,) - General health and nutritional status, any symptoms you are experiencing - Weight and height measurements - Vitamin and mineral supplementation review - If there are any important blood tests required in order to make a complete assessment, these will be discussed with you and you can then visit your nearest blood test location (PathCare, Ampath or LANCET). Otherwise, please send any lab tests which have been done in the last 3 month to me (deena.nutrition@gmail.com). Any other immediate nutrition-related questions or concerns will also be discussed in this session. We will also discuss if your nutritional needs would be to have a completely personalized, detailed, daily meal plan or if this doesn’t quite suit your nutritional needs or goals at the moment. After this session, I will assess all of the information discussed and make a completely personalized and comprehensive lifestyle, nutrition and health plan tailored towards your health goals, medical history, exercise routine and food preferences. This plan will then be discussed together in the second consultation, which is mandatory (see more details below).
Cancellation Policy
Please note that if you are an existing client and would like adjustments to be made to your meal plan, or if you would like an updated plan (e.g. change in exercise program, new goals, pregnancy, breastfeeding, new medical diagnoses) you may be required to cover the cost for the time spent on preparing the revised/new plan. This is a cash-based practice and not contracted into medical aid companies. You are therefore required to settle your account via EFT with us before your appointment or pay by cash/card on the day of appointment. On payment an invoice will be emailed which can be used to claim back the consultation fee from your Medical Aid Savings account should you wish to do so. Upfront payment is requested to confirm virtual consultations.
